Whether a pool is concrete, vinyl liner, or fiberglass, the necessities of a properly executed project remain the same.  The water vessel requires correct hydraulics, proper installation, code compliance, and a desired esthetic.  To meet the educational demands of an increasing market, GENESIS is launching a 24-hour Vinyl Liner / Fiberglass Pool Construction School. This pilot program begins on day one by covering more than five hours of required hydraulics for both vinyl liner and fiberglass pool installations, then will complete the day with an introduction to design, focused specifically on those vessels.  Day two will cover fiberglass pools' setup and execution, with day three focusing on vinyl liner pools. To obtain full credit for the course, students will be required to attend all three days of training and complete an online exam.  Partial credit will not be offered.

GENESIS D211 Elements of Design 2-day Course
Sunday – Monday, January 23- 24 | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Members: $1690  Non-Members: $1890
This course introduces the fundamentals of good design and will teach you how to lay out the different improvements in your projects (e.g., pool, spa, patio, etc.). We will break the fundamentals down into two categories: the Elements of Design and the Principles of Design. Once you have a good grasp of the fundamentals, you will learn how to apply them. We will start with short practice exercises and build up to a final project: creating a master plan that includes a pool and spa.

  • Discuss fundamental Elements (e.g., line, color, and form) and Principles (e.g., unity, balance, and scale) of design.
  • Define perceptual skills and a better understanding of spatial organization and spatial relationships.
  • Use these concepts to design beautiful spaces that connect with the surrounding environment.
  • Use your communication skills to portray your design intent to the client accurately.
