Designed for those new to the pool and spa service industry or working a pool maintenance route, this course takes you through the PHTA Service Tech Manual and gives you what you need to conform to industry standards. There are no prerequisites; new and seasonal employees are welcome. Learn key content in the PHTA Service Tech Manual, including safety, pool maintenance, water quality, and pool circulation & filtration. 

You must successfully pass (by scoring 75% or better) a 75-question, open-book, multiple-choice to earn the designation. All materials, exam and Service Tech Manual included.

GENESIS C201: Construction School – Concrete Pools 3-day Course

Attendees will learn all of the necessary disciplines for building a structurally sound water vessel. Topics covered include site analysis, introductory fluid engineering, geotechnical and structural engineering that includes a review of difficult sites, shotcrete, waterproofing, tile, interior finishes, coping, and concrete decking. The course concludes with an interactive walkthrough of a complex project from start to finish. This program is designed to move each student through all phases of concrete pool construction in detail, unlike anything else offered in the industry. Attendees will learn from top experts in their field, ask questions, and begin a relationship with the faculty that doesn't end when the class is over. A new or newly plastered pool requires special start-up procedures to ensure the plaster cures properly. This is an 8-hour program that will certify an individual in the National Plasterers Council industry method of properly starting up the water chemistry and care of a newly surfaced swimming pool and/or spa.

The Start-up Technician Certification Program is a National Plasterers Council (NPC) initiative to set forth the proper protocol for a pool's initial start-up. With this program, the NPC has established the industry's standard for the start-up and care of plastered pools across the globe. NPC Certified Technicians have the verifiable industry knowledge and hands-on experience to provide a quality start-up for in-ground swimming pools and spas using the NPC-approved method taught in the Certification Class.
