Description
Commercial pool projects are not simply larger residential pools. They often involve different owners, project teams, codes, submittals, inspections, engineering expectations, documentation requirements, equipment systems, operational needs, more automation, chemical monitoring and control, extensive signage requirements, and risk considerations. For builders interested in expanding into commercial aquatics, understanding these differences before bidding, or accepting work is critical. This introductory session provides a practical overview of what pool builders should know before making the move into commercial pool construction. Led by Terry Brannon, P.E., the course will compare residential and commercial project expectations, highlight common commercial pool project types, and review the major technical, regulatory, business, and project-management considerations that can affect success. Attendees will explore topics such as design coordination, permitting, health department involvement, hydraulics, equipment selection, accessibility, commissioning, documentation, bonding and insurance requirements, contracts, owner communication, and liability exposure.
